David Attenborough’s “Life on Earth” meets Gaudi’s Park Guell… Pidge Reyes’ creations may look out-of-this-world, yet seemingly their subjects are very much of this world. Once again, an artist draws from the greatest works of art. Just as Haeckel and Audubon and even Dr. Rizal were amazed by a world so real yet crafted in fantasy, this artist too appears to articulate nature in his works.
In contrast to his stark works in concrete and steel from previous exhibits, “Inspired Clusters” is in more than one sense organic. The sudden shifts in color and patina recall Lichen growth on stone. The Hidden nooks and crannies that reveal shiny under layers retell experiences of searching among rocks and pools exposed by a low tide.
On until Dec. 3 2011.

" This is a foolish place to be... to inquire about the master of this dream. The conceit of the daytime residents is what the nighttime residents want. To come in carelessly is like a moth to a flame." -Dolls (in "Paprika", 2006)
